Applications and the new technological era

What is a web-based application?

A web-based application popularly known as a web application is a software application program that uses web-based technology to perform specific tasks, such as remotely controlling web servers that host web applications and store important information from different connected computers.

You can easily access the application using a standard browser from any computer with an Internet connection. You can use a client program to manage and run these web applications and access the necessary data. This is why people also refer to web applications as client-server programs.

These web applications have become an increasingly powerful tool for businesses; their most popular uses are communication with consumers, secure data storage while providing information and data to management, collaboration with employees, and more. Google applications are the most popular among Internet applications. An example of this is Google Docs, a word processing tool; however, users perform all operations through a web browser and not through software installed on their computer.

Functions of the web-based application

A web application is a collection of stable and dynamic web pages. A static web page does not change when the user requests it: the web browser sends the page to the requesting browser without modifying it. In contrast, dynamic web pages are processed by the server before being sent to the requesting browser. To change the value of this page is to give it a name.

Mobile applications and their growth

One of the most disruptive technologies we can think of is artificial intelligence. We can find artificial intelligence in many online applications and programs that we use every day.

Facial recognition, predictive marketing applications, and chatbots support or maintain applications based on artificial intelligence. Companies that want to develop in the market and want to compete must be active and bet on this technology so that they can find good positions in the coming years.

As mentioned in this article, the advent of cell phones did not happen by accident. The widespread use of cell phones has led to the development of applications to solve various problems.

Web applications and other applications

You probably use web applications every day, the complete web application cycle starts with the user’s invitation through the browser. Web applications operate within client-server architectures with distributed application components.

The functional network involved in a web application is the application server, the web server, and the database. On the other hand, native mobile applications are designed for a specific platform, such as Android for a Samsung device or iOS for an Apple iPhone. You must download and install these applications through the app store; these applications can access various system resources, such as camera and GPS functionality. As a rule, phone apps exist and run on the device itself. Some popular examples of mobile devices are Instagram, Snapchat, Google Maps, etc.

Websites can be accessed through your web browser and can be accessed from any device you use. They are not native to any system and do not need to be downloaded or installed. Due to their responsive nature, they look and function like a cell phones. Today’s web applications are becoming increasingly complex as technology advances.
